Assessment

We use diverse assessment methods designed to develop both disciplinary knowledge and professional skills. Following a School-wide review of assessment practices, our programmes combine academic rigour with opportunities for students to develop a broad range of capabilities, including:

  • critical thinking
  • quantitative analysis
  • coding and data skills
  • AI literacy
  • effective verbal and written communication
  • teamwork and collaboration

Around 50% of assessments take the form of individual or group coursework, including:

  • investment reports
  • policy and consulting-style case studies
  • data analysis projects
  • simulated trading portfolios
  • presentations

Around 50% of assessments are traditional written examinations, particularly within core modules where the rigorous assessment of economic, financial, and quantitative knowledge remains essential.
