Small Grants
Please note: unfortunately we are currently unable to confirm a Small Grants programme for 2026/27, whilst Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF) is under review. We hope to be able to provide more clarity on this later in 2026.
The Centre for Public Engagement Small Grants funding programme provides grants of up to £1,000 to enable Queen Mary staff and students to deliver small-scale projects that engage the public with university research, teaching, or core business.
The programme has three categories of award (Public Engagement, Community Engagement and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)) available which are designed to help support a variety of different engagement projects, including:
- Events, workshops and performances
- PPI activities (e.g. patient panels, focus groups, advisory groups, workshops)
- Public engagement at festivals (local, regional, national and international)
- Evaluation of engagement activities
- Creative outputs from engagement activities including films, artworks, installations, podcasts or publications
- Consultation and collaboration with community organisations and groups
- Campus based engagement activities (e.g. stalls, tabletop activities, workshops)
