Profile
I completed a First Class BSc (Hons) in Medical Genetics at Queen Mary University of London. I then joined the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis as a PhD student, based in the Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory. My supervisors are Drs Belinda Nedjai, Oleg Blyuss, and Efthymios Ladoukakis.
My research investigates DNA methylation as a biomarker for detecting and risk-stratifying HPV-associated precancer and cancer. I identify differentially methylated regions and use them to build predictive classifiers. The goal is twofold: to better detect high-grade precancerous disease, and to distinguish lesions that behave like cancer from those likely to regress on their own.
