Profile

I am a Lecturer in Mental Health based in the Dementia and Ageing Research Unit within the Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health. My work sits at the intersection of dementia and mental health, spanning from risk reduction to post-diagnostic support.

My research portfolio currently spans three active grants: CHATTER, an experimental study investigating relationships between thought properties and cognitive ageing; APPLE-Tree, a randomised controlled trial evaluating a non-pharmacological intervention for dementia risk reduction; and GRACE, an implementation research project focused on post-diagnostic support for people living with dementia and their family carers. Across all three, I am committed to addressing health inequalities and embedding the perspectives of people with lived experience at every stage, from study design through to dissemination.

I contribute to teaching across multiple modules on the Psychological Therapies MSc and supervise both MSc and PhD students. I am also the Faculty Lead for the Open Research Community of Practice, supporting colleagues across the institution in adopting transparent and reproducible research practices. Beyond my core roles, I engage in outreach activities and have been seconded to the Department of Health and Social Care for policy work.
