This new position marks a phenomenal rise of 42 places for Queen Mary in just three years, making it the fastest-rising Russell Group University in the QS World University Rankings.
Professor Colin Bailey CBE, President and Principal of Queen Mary, said: “For over 240 years, Queen Mary and its founding institutions have been committed to opening the doors of opportunity through excellence.
“On the basis of hard metrics, this excellence and our position among the very top universities in the world is clear – for example, we are ranked 31st in the world for the quality of our research in the current Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
“To now see our excellence better reflected in our positions in the QS rankings is a source of great pride to me and the whole Queen Mary community.”
The University is also ranked 101st globally, and in the top 10 in the UK, in the latest U.S. News Best Global Universities list, confirming Queen Mary as a top global university.
