The event showcased the breadth of research undertaken within the School, with presentations ranging from mathematical physics and cosmology to network science, topology, algebraic and tropical geometry, analytic number theory, and mathematical models addressing real-world societal challenges.
Alongside the talks, second year postgraduate researchers presented posters throughout the day, creating opportunities for discussion and interdisciplinary exchange between students and academic staff.
Presentation Prizes were awarded to:
- 1st: Jakub Dobrowolski – Spectral decomposition of |E|²
- 2nd: Yuhan Li – Towards fair epidemic models
- 3rd: Ahmed Zaid – Designing topological cluster synchronization patterns with the Dirac operator
Poster Prizes were awarded to:
- 1st: Siran Li
- 2nd: Longxiao Wang
- 3rd: Chenyang Li
The People's Choice Prize was awarded to: Jordan Cobley
The School congratulates all prize winners and thanks every student who contributed to the event. The high quality of both the presentations and posters reflected the creativity, rigour, and diversity of research being undertaken by postgraduate researchers.
We are also grateful to the academic staff who served as judges and to everyone who attended and supported the event. PGR Day remains an important annual opportunity to showcase doctoral research, strengthen connections across different research areas, and celebrate the achievements of our postgraduate community.
