Profile
My practice and research explore the intersection of moving images, emerging technologies, and critical ecologies. Drawing on filmmaking and theory, my work is informed by discussions from film and media studies, environmental humanities, contemporary art and philosophy.
My most recent project, The Cinematic Food Regime, is a long-term, practice-led research project investigating industrial agro-food systems and their intersection with scopic regimes. It consists of a trilogy of films: Future Foods (2021), which parallels the production of new microbial proteins with that of hyperrealistic food props for film and advertising; Agrilogistics (2022), which looks at imaging technologies in industrial agriculture and considers the greenhouse as a cinematic device; and Bliss Point (2023), which focuses on how the scopic informs new food supply processes. The project was presented at a dedicated screening titled 'Politics of Food' at Tate Modern in 2024.
My films have been screened at festivals such as Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, Visions du Réel, Cinéma du Réel, Málaga Film Festival, and Hong Kong IFF, as well as institutions like Tate Modern, the Whitechapel Gallery, Eye Film Museum, Museum of Moving Image New York, Anthology Film Archives, and Nottingham Contemporary. In 2023-24, I contributed to the Foodscapes project for the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, producing a film and writing an essay for the official catalogue (Fundación Arquia FQ, MITMA, 2024). My work has been mentioned in publications including Art and Climate Change (Thames & Hudson, 2022), Compost Reader (Cthulhu Books, Institute for Postnatural Studies, 2022), and magazines such as Art Review, Flash Art, and E-flux. I have published two artist books, Agrilogistics (La Capella-BCNProducció, 2022), and Four Walks (ICUB, 2017).
In 2026 I completed a PhD in Art at Goldsmiths, University of London.
